The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will be conducting a Common Written Examination(CWE) for recruitment of Probationary Officers / Management Trainees posts at 19 public sector banks. The CWE has been approved by the 19 banks and the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) with the consent of Govt. of India. The written examination will be held at 45 centers all over India & the address of the venues will be advised in the call letters to candidates.

  • September 2011 Bank recruitment CWE details


    1. Successful candidates of the CWE will be issued scorecards & then they can apply to any of the 19 banks mentioned above by quoting their personal details and CWE scores, subject to meeting eligibility criteria as and when the banks call for applications. Applying for CWE/ appearing for the examination does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in all or any of the 19 Public Sector Banks

    2. Eligibility criteria for 2011 Bank recruitment CWE:
    I Nationality / Citizenship:
    A candidate must be either: (i) A Citizen of India or (ii) A subject of Nepal or (iii) A subject of Bhutan or (iv) A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and
    Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

    II Age (as on 01.07.2011): Minimum: 20 Years / Maximum: 30 Years
    The maximum age limit specified is applicable to General Category candidates. For details on relaxation of Upper age limit please see the advertisement notification.

    III Educational Qualifications(as on 01.07.2011): A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

    2011 Bank recruitment CWE format


    1. Reasoning: 50 questions / 50 marks
    2. English Language: 50 questions / 25 marks
    3. Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions / 50 marks
    4. General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry): 50 questions / 50 marks
    5. Computer Knowledge: 50 questions / 50 marks
    6. Descriptive Paper on English Composition (Essay, Précis, Letter Writing etc): 50 questions / 25 marks
    Note:
    (i) All tests except the Test of English Language and Descriptive Paper on English Composition will be printed bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
    (ii) The Descriptive Papers of only those candidates who secure minimum qualifying marks in each of the objective tests will be evaluated.
    (iii) For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

    3. Ensure that you have preloaded the scanned image files of your photo and signature in your PC for immediate uploading to the website along with your application data.     4. 2011 Bank recruitment CWE Fees: Application Fees/Intimation Charges (Payable from 08.07.2011 and 30.07.2011 both dates inclusive) is Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates and Rs.450/- for all others. Cash Voucher form. Note: Transaction charges for NEFT/ Online Payment will have to be borne by the candidate.
