This Global Pagoda is a replica of Pagoda in Myanmar. It is basically built for "Dhamma vipassana" or Meditation purpose. The sculpture/architecture is so beatuful and ethnic that you forget that you are living in 21 century.


Some Architectural Facts About "Global Pagoda" :


* Its construction started in October 1997 and completed in Novemeber 2008. (11 years)
* It is built using around 2.5 millions tons of stone. (Its Eco Friendly as stone is used instead of Concrete)
* It is having World's largest pillar-less stone dome of diameter 280 feet.
* The architects are confident that this monument will remain intact for another 1000 years.


Global Vipassana Center:


Vipassana programs are held here year round. The dome hall is used for meditation which has 8000 people seating capacity.


Route Directions :


1. Bhayandar (Thane,Maharashtra) : Visitors from Thane can reach Bhayandar(west) and get bus for Gorai.
2. Boriwali (Mumbai, Maharashtra) : Visitors from Mumbai can reach Boriwali(west) and get bus for gorai and after that enjoy a sea boat ride to get here.
3. Malad : You can also enjoy Esselworld Ferry service from Malad, Marve beach.

* Global Pagoda is open for visitors Monday to Sunday from 9am to 7pm.

Must Watch:


When you visit the Global Pagoda", you must visit the large picture gallery situated on the 1st floor of the basement. Here you can see life story of the great Goutam Buddha. All the special moments of Guatam Buddha's life are captured in this picture gallery. You will feel like you have read a full book about Guatam Buddha and the Dhamma progress after you finish the visit of this picture exhibition.
