Pandharpur is in Solapur district. It is located at the bank of river bhima. It is just about 70 kms from solapur. There is temple of Vitthal and Rukmini in Padharpur. The Temple is very famous in all over Maharashtra.
Pandharpur is famed as religous capital of Maharashtra. There is festival in Pandharpur called 'Ashadi' and 'Karthiki Ekadashi'. At these festivals many believers go to pandharpur by walking whether it may be 200 kms or more. This is known as 'Pandharpur Vaari'.
The popular belief is that the lord Vitthal came to see his devotee Pundalik. But Gundalik was busy in serving his aged parents and Lord Vitthal had to stay there. But he was very happy seeing that. Thus lord Vitthal stayed there with Pundalik in Pandharpur.


Tuljapur is in Osmanabad district. Tuljapur is about 45 kms from Solapur. It is located on the hills of Yamunachala in the ranges of Sahyadri. There is temple of TuljaBhavani. Tuljabhavani is the goddess of Hindu's. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a great believer of TuljaBhavani. It is believed that Tulja Bhavani was diety goddess of Bhosale kingdome. It is said that the sword of Shivaji maharaj (Bhavani sword) was given by TuljaBhavani to destroy cruel peoples.
Tuljabhavani is the temple dedicated to Hindu goddess Bhavani.


Akkalkot is near solapur and on the boundry of Karnataka state. There is temple of Shri Swami Samartha Maharaj. Swami Samarth was incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. He first appered in Akkalkot. He stayed there for twenty two years. Swami Samarth lived in Akkalkot. Akkalkot is a great holy place. Shri Swami Samarth fulfills every wish of his devotee.
