AFL Match Analysis: Gajanan Oil, Golden Dreams draw Blank
Nitin Jadav's Gajanan Oil Indian and Santosh Muthiyan's Golden Dreams played to a goalless draw in a Group 'B' match of the AMP Infra Pvt. Ltd Presents Lokamt Samachar's AFL at the Divisional Sports Complex on 7 April 2011. In dull and dreary match, both the teams dished out poor football. For the first 20 minutes, there was hardly any move watch metioning as play was mostly confined to the midfiled.
In the 21st minute, Saleh who is foreign player (from Hyderabad) of the Golden Dreams, he got the free kicks and from top of the circle just went wide. A couple of minutes later, a Gold Dreams striker tried his best to make inroads but Gajanan Oil Indians goal keeper Ahmed brought off a brilliant save. In the closing stages of the first half, Gajanan Oil Indians missed a good chance to forge ahead. Even after the change of ends, both the teams failed to raise their level of performance, albeit Golden Dreams had the better of exchanges. Golden Dreams substitute Mazhor made a good move but could not score form a close angle.
In the 68th minute, Golden Dreams talented player Junaid set it up for the unmarked center half Abdul Rehman, but the latter's shot just missed the target, much to the dismay to the player and his team mates. With time running out, both the teams adopted defensive tactics, and seemed content to garner at least a solitary point by drawing the match. Golden Dreams's talented player Mohd. Junaid was adjudged the man of the Match for setting up some wonderful moves.
Gajan Oil Indians have not scored a single goal in the tournament so far, as their first match had ended in a goalless draw.
On the other hand, Golden dreams have lost one match and drawn from the three matches they played.
