What Is Infrared
Infrared is invisible light beam having longer wavelength and lower frequency than that of visible light. Infrared radiation was invented by William Herschel. He found infrared radiation in sunlight on 11 February 1800. William Herschel was born on 15 November 1738 in Holy Roman Empire and died on 25 August 1822 at the age of 83 years in England. He had also discovered Uranus in 1781.
There are so many applications of Infrared which are vary useful for us. Some applications are as follow,
(1)Night vision :
Night vision devices are works on infrared technology. Using night vision devices we can see even when there is not enough light to see using naked eyes.
Thermographic device like Thermographic camera use the radiation reflected from the object to capture image. Thermography is normally use in military and industries.
Now a day infrared technology use in mobile phones to communicate with other infrared device to transfer images, music files and other files. Infrared is also use in our television remote to communicate with television. Today there are so many infrared sensors are available in market which is use in large quantity for communications.
