2011 Auspicious Days and Dates to buy gold coins and gold jewellery

This article gives information on when are the best dates in 2011 to buy gold.

When you purchase gold you are making a great investment. Over the last one year or so, gold prices have risen substantially. While there is no guarantee that these prices will spiral even more to give you back good returns when you sell the gold you purchased, it is still considered a good investment base.

Many Indians are very particular about the days when they will buy gold. If there is a wedding in the family, then gold jewellery is purchased in advance of course, but this purchase is also determined by the dates which are considered auspicious. For example, nobody will buy gold on amvasya as this is considered inauspicious. Also, during the period of Shradh (when one's ancestors are remembered) nobody buys gold or starts a new venture. The 2011 Shradh period is Sept13th to Sept 27th.

In Maharashtra and some other States of India, auspicious days are looked up in the panchaang. While Dhanteras during the festival of Diwali and Akshaya Tritiya are the 2 most popular days when gold is bought, there are certain other ideal days too to buy gold.
