Gopal Krishna Temple At Nagpur
This temple is listed in the Grade One heritage structure by the State Government Of Maharashtra. The idol of Gopal Krishna is brought from the Dwaraka. Also the ancient idols are Garuda,Ram ,Laxman ,Sita ,Hanuman and Laxmi Narayan. The Gopal Krishna Mandir is locate behind the Maratha Mandir in the Sitabuldi Nagpur. This temple is built by Balaji Sadashiv Buty in 1796. About the 200 years ago there was an open patch where two rivers are met. Hence this area is known as "Sangam".People used this land to bury bodies. Sadashive Buty put it to better use by building a temple.The seventh generation of Buty Family is look after the temple. The festivals like Janmashtami, Navratri, Bhagwat Saptha, Kartik Pournima are celebrate with full joy. The mahaprasad is also organized in Gopal Krishna Temple at Sitabuldi Nagpur.
Structure of Temple
The temple has a carved stones 'Garbha Gruha' and 'Shikhar'. It has a mandap on stones plinth with carved wooden columns. A foliated arched gateway leads into walled temple precinct. Today ,the entrance and pillars of temple have some starches.
