Schedule for various Hindu Auspicious Days and Festivals as per Calender 2011
January 2011 will begin the New Year with a great bang. Lots of resolutions would be seen coming in and carried on well. The most auspicious festival that is eagerly awaited by Hindus in January is Makar Sankranti. Makara Sankranti is scheduled to fall on 15th January 2011 and would last till 10th February 2011. Makar Sankranti usually lasts up to Rath Saptami which falls on 10th of February 2011. This elongates the festival as in 2010, Makar Sankranti lasted for only 8 days and in 2011 it would go on for around 25 days. Lots of Haldi Kumkum Programs are scheduled as per the Calender 2011. Other important days like Bhogi fall on 14th and Ganesh Shakashta Chaturthi falls on 22nd January 2011.
As per Calender 2011, the festival of Makar Sankranti will go on till mid – February. Mahashivaratri is scheduled on 2nd March 2011 and Angarak Ganesh Sankastha Chaturthi falls on 22nd March which is also scheduled to have Shivaji Maharaj Birth Anniversary. Holi is scheduled on 19th March and Dhulivandan will follow on 20th March which is a Sunday. Gudi Paadwa, one of the most important festival of Hindus is scheduled to fall on 4th April as per the Calendar 2011. Shri Ram Navami is on 12th April 2011 followed by Dr. Ambedkar Birth Anniversary on 14th April 2011. Mahavir Jayanti will be on 16th April and Hanuman Jayanti is scheduled on 18th April. April 2011 will also have Good Friday on 22nd followed by Easter on 24th. Ganesh Sankastha Chaturthi is scheduled on 21st April 2011 as per the Calendar 2011.
Other important and auspicious day for Hindus is Akshay Trithiya which is scheduled to fall on 6th May 2011 as per the Calender 2011. May is also scheduled to celebrate Buddha Purnima on 17th and Ganesh Sankhastha Chaturthi on 20th of this month. June 2011 is scheduled to have Vata Purnima on 15th of this month and Ganesh Chaturthi will be on 19th June as per Calendar 2011. Ashaadi Ekadashi is scheduled to be on 11th July 2011 followed by Guru Poornima on 15th July 2011. Ganesh Sankashtha Chaturthi for July month would be on 18th of this month as per the Calendar 2011.
Shravan Month as per the Hindu Lunar year would begin from 31st July. Shravan month is considered to be very important month for the Hindus. This month brings lots of festivals and celebrations throughout, which are celebrated with great spirits and harmony. One of the festivals that is scheduled in the beginning of Shravan is Nag Panchami. Shravan would last up to 13th August and that same day is scheduled to have Raksha Bandhan. Ganesh Sankashtha Chaturthi is on the 17th of August and Pateti or Parsi New Year is on 19th of August as per the Calendar 2011. Shri Krishna Jayanti is on 21st August followed by Gopikala on 22nd August 2011. Pola is scheduled on28th August and Hartalika Tritiya is on 31st August 2011.
Lord Ganesh Festival starts with Shri Ganesh Chaturthi which is scheduled on 1st September 2011 and would last up to Anant Chaturdashi on 11th September as per the Calendar 2011. Rishi Panchami is on 2nd September and Ganesh Sankashtha Chaturthi for this month will be on 16th September 2011. Navratri Festival starts with Ghatasthapana, which is scheduled on 28th of September as per the Calendar 2011. This festival will continue up to 6th October 2011, which is scheduled for Dassera. Lalita Panchami is on 1st October and Saraswati Avahan is scheduled on 3rd October. As per the Calendar 2011, October is also scheduled to have Diwali Festival which would begin with Dhantrayodashi on 24th of this month. Narak Chaturdashi and Laxmi Pujan is on 26th October followed by Balipratipada on 27th of this month. Bhaubeej is scheduled for 28th of October as per Calendar 2011. Ganesh Sankashtha Chaturthi for October, November and December 2011 will fall on 15th, 14th and 14th respectively. Shri Datta Jayanti is scheduled on 10th December as per the schedule given in Calendar 2011.
