BMC Plans to cut Water Supply for Adarsh Housing Society from Today
The BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has decided to cut down the water supply to Adarsh Co-operative Housing Society from 2nd November 2010. This decision was taken, as soon as the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) revoked the Occupancy Certificate (OC) of the Adarsh Housing Society on 30th October 2010. Additionally the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) have also decided to cut off power connections in this society.
The MMRDA had issued letters to BMC and BEST informing them that the Occupancy Certificate earlier provided to Adarsh Society had been revoked. They expected the BMC and BEST to take necessary action regarding this issue. The BMC thus went on with the disconnection of the water supply lines for Adarsh Society. Adarsh Housing Society had got its water connection from BMC on 19th October 2010. So far only two flats in this society were occupied. BMC plans to charge for the water supply that had been done to this society for the last 14 days. According to the report provided by BMC, around 4,320 liters of water had been supplied to the society for the last 14 days.
