Chocolate Cashew-Walnut Roll
Diwali is all about Sweets and lovely foods. Chocolate Cashew-Wlanut Roll is a delightful recipe which adds uniqueness to the festival and is a retreat for your taste buds. Additionally kids are delighted with this recipe, as the traditional sweets can get a bit boring for them.
Ingredients Required for Chocolate Cashew – Walnut Roll
Mawa – 250gm
Powdered Sugar – 100gm
Cashewnuts – 50 gm, (powdered)
Walnuts – 25 gm, (coarsely chopped)
Cocoa Powder – 2 tsp
Almond Essence – 1/4th tsp
Silver Foil, for decoration
Method for Chocolate Cashew - Walnut Roll
Pass the mawa through a sieve to avoid lumps. Roast it on a very low heat for around 5 minutes. Check that it doesn't change its colour.
Remove the mawa in a plate. Add to it sugar, almond essence and the cashew nut powder. Mix well.
Divide this mixture into two portions, one three fourth and the other one fourth.
Add the walnuts and cocoa powder to the one fourth mixtures.
Divide the three fourth and one fourth mixture in equal number of balls.
Roll each ball of three fourth mixture into a small puri and stuff the cashew-cocoa balls into it.
Close the roll little firmly.
Place all the rolls side by side on a plate.
Decorate with the silver foil and cut each roll into two.
