Sachin Tendulkar's Bat fetches record Rs 42 lakhs at Sports Auction
In a glittering sports auction held in Mumbai, Sachin's Bat attracted maximum interest among the participants which fetched Rs 42 lakhs Many personal items donated by the top 25 sports persons went on auction Sachin's bat had scored had an unbeaten score of 163 against the New Zealand at Christchurch last year, his fourth highest one day score, with this bat.
The other record breaking items were the rifle used by India''s only individual Olympic gold medalist, shooter Abhinav Bindra and the bat of Rahul Dravid which he had used to score a century in each innings in the Kolkata test of 2005 against Pakistan, both fetching Rs 20 lakhs.
The other item which was auctioned for Rs 17.5 lakhs was the bat donated by Sunil Gavaskar which was signed by all team members of the 1983 World Cup winning Team. Anil Kumble's jersey went for Rs 11.5 lakh. which he wore when he equalled Jim Laker's ten-wicket in a Test innings record against Pakistan in New Delhi in 1999. His Test cap that he wore between 2004 and 2006 also went with the Jersey.
