Microwave Besan Laadoos
This Diwali cook Diwali 2010 treats with a difference. Besan Laadoos form an integral part of Diwali. It is one of the main sweets made especially on this occasion. Here's a recipe made easily in microwave for working ladies who have so much to do but so little time. Microwave is definitely a boon to mankind and this recipe as usual gets cooked in microwave with perfection.
Ingredients for Microwave Besan Laadoos
Besan (gram flour) – 1 cup
Powdered sugar (pithi saakhar) – 3/4th cup
Ghee – 1/4th cup
Cardomom powder – 1/4th tsp
Cashewnuts – 1 tbsp, chopped and slightly roasted for garnishing
Preparation: Besan should be sifted twice through the sieve for any lumps or coarse particles. Same should be done with the powdered sugar to remove any lumps.
Method of Microwave Besan Laadoos
Place ghee in a microwave safe bowl and keep it on high for around 1 minute. Add besan to this bowl and mix well. Keep it on High for 5 minutes. Stir once in between.
Remove out and mix it well. Keep it on High for 1 more minute and remove it out to mix well. Keep doing this for a couple of minutes till you get the desired results and tempting aroma. It won't take more than 5 minutes to achieve the results.
Finally remove this besan – ghee mixture in a plate and add powdered sugar. Mold it with hands in shape of laadoos. Garnish each laadoo with cashew nut (press one bit of cashew nut on the top of each laadoo).
Since this Diwali sweet is cooked in microwave, it requires very less ghee and sugar. Hence it is ideal for people who plan to diet and are worried about eating Diwali sweets.
