Aurangabad : Maha Turism Capital
On the tuesday 19 october 2010, the state tourism minister Vijaykumar Gavit declared Aurangabad as the turism capital of the Maharashtra. Minister Gavit said that the Aurangabad heritage corridor will be marked in the world, especially in Buddhist countries. The maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture (MACCIA) organised two day Aurangabad tourism conclave. When you face one question that is , In which region largest number of monuments are located? than only one answer is present that is Aurangabad and Marathwa region. This region account for the largest of monuments in state, including the two world heritage monuments Ajanta and Ellora.
Ministe Gavit said,"the tourism department of state government is extending a financial assistance of Rs 150 crore to forest department to develop the eco-tourism facilities in the forest area."
In Aurangabad, various tourism facilities were coming up like a golf cource etc. Adding like this facilites being provided should be brought under the spotlight to attract tourist flow to this region and in Maharashtra..
