Starting from Question No 1 for which the prize has been kept at Rs 5000, the prize goes on doubling upto 8th question when the prize money reaches Rs 6,40,000. From the ninth question onwards, the prize money goes upto 12,50,000 from Rs 6,40,000 and from Rs 12,50,000 it again doubles to Rs 25 lakhs, Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 1 crore, to the 12th question. For the last question No 13, the prize money goes to five times from the 12th question prize money of Rs 1 crore to Rs 5 crores.
KBC Lifelines for contestants
Let us go to the Lifelines that are available to the contestants under KBC 4.
Ask the Audience
In this lifeline, the host repeat the question to the audience, who get about 10 seconds to answer in touch pads, when it is displayed to the contestant in percentage terms format, while displaying the sane in the monitors lof the host and contestant and for the audience.
Phone a friend
Under this option, the contestant is allowed to call one of the three pre-arranged friends, who has 30 seconds to give a reply. However, the contestants have to submit their phone numbers in advance.
Ask the Expert
This option allows the contestant to have experts guidance in a live T audio and video connection. The expert could be anyone from a celebrity to a previous Millionaire contestant. The availability of the expert throughout the game has to be ensured. The contestant and expert are allowed to discuss the question, having no set time limit.
Double Dip
Under this new lifeline the contestant is allowed to make two guesses at a question, and is available only after seventh question is answered correctly . Under this option, the second incorrect answer or guess results in a loss and the contestant's winnings drop back down to the last milestone achieved. 50/50 which was available in earlier KBC series has been replaced by Double Dip.
What happened Today in KBC 4
In spite of making the contestant comfortable and relaxed, one third question which was in yesterday's episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 (KBC 4), the question on SIM full form put the contestant in tight spot. This was the 3rd question for the contestant with the prize money of Rs. 20,000. Of the four options given, the contestant got so confused between smart or subscriber for S in SIM.
