Nifty Sensex closes in Negative Territory


Both Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended the day in the negative territory. The market opened at 20700.42 and went to a high of 20854.55, a low of 20442.82 and closed at the end of the day at 20,497.64, a loss of 190.24 points or 0.92 percent over previous close of 20687.88

Both Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended the day in the negative territory. The market opened at 20700.42 and went to a high of 20854.55, a low of 20442.82 and closed at the end of the day at 20,497.64, a loss of 190.24 points or 0.92 percent over previous close of 20687.88 The major gainers in A Group were Rashtriya Chem, Coromandel Intl, National Fert, Indiabulls Fin, Sesa Goa while the losers in A Group were BPCL, IFCI, Areva T&D, HPCL, Reliance Com METAL, IT, TECK were the Sector wise the major gainers, while in sectors like the FMCG , HC REALTY selling pressure were noticed.

When theSensex reached the all time high in the morning trade, selling set in due to booking at higher levels. Selling in the afternoon again brought down the benchmark indices to day's low ion global cues.
Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were dumping the shares at higher levels On 13 October shares worth Rs 1354.81 crores while today October 14, 2010 shares worth Rs 694.27 crores as against FIIs net purchase of 1019.87 crores, in BSE and NSE taken together.

In the National Stock Exchange (NSE) NIFTY which opened at 6,234.30, saw a high of 6,284.10, a low of 6,157.90, closed at 6,177.35, losing 56.55 or 0.91 per cent over previous close. The major gainers were SESAGOA , WIPRO, TATASTEEL, INFOSYSTCH., and TATAMOTORS while the major losers in Nifty were BPCL RCOM LT POWERGRID M&M

Launching of Pre-Open Session at NSE and BSE from October 18

With the capital regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), giving its green signal for launching of pre-open session call auction on the stock exchanges, in July this year, India's two premier bourses, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE), will start a pre-session call auction for 15 minutes from October 18
