Political Parties Registration - New Guidelines for Election Commission (EC) of India
The Election Commission (EC) of India, has issued a new set of guidelines and conditions for registration of new Political Parties, in its over all efforts to check the mushrooming of political parties in the country. The new guidelines effective October 15, requires, a political party seeking registration, to publish an advertisement in two national and two regional dailies. The advertisement should contain the Office Bearers of the Name and Address of the New Party and its Office Bearers.
In a Press Communique released on Friday, the EC said that the primary aim of the advertisement was to give a chance or opportunity to any person to convey to the Commission one's objections, if any, on the registration of the new party.
The Representation of the People Act, 1951, under which the Commission had from time to time stipulated additional requirements requires a party seeking registration as political party to furnish to the EC within 30 days following the date of formation of the Political Party, with name and address of the Party and membership details and names of office bearers of the Party.
Needs some more clarity on the subject matter, to complete the registration process effectively.By which it is to be known to every indian citizen about the democratic/political development in the country.
