Ramakrishna Gopal Bhandarkar - Social Reformer



Sir R G Bhandarkar born on 05/06/1837 at Malvan, Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. Completed post graduate level education at Elphinston College, Mumbai. After completion of education Sir Bhandarkar become a researcher in Sanskrit. He reconstructed the political history of the Deccan of the Satavahanas and the history of Vaishnavism and other sects. They also a member of Paramhansa Sabha & Prarthana Sabha. He supports & in favor of denunciation of the caste system, encouragement of widow remarriage, encouragement of female education, and abolition of child marriage. Ramakrishna Gopal Bhandarkar honored with the Sir Kitab in 1911.
