Gopal Hari Deshmukh started his career as a translator in British government. Deshmukh has an hobby of writing, they write articles aimed at social reform in the weekly Prabhakar under the hidden pen name Lokhitwadi. After completion of 100 articles on Social Reforme they popularly known Lokhitwadinchi Shatapatre. Lokhitwadi attract attention on emancipation and education of women, and wrote against arranged child marriages, dowry system, and polygamy. Deshmukh played main role in foundation of Marathi Journalism by taking leadership in ज्ञानप्रकाश, इंदुप्रकाश, लोकहितवादी. The appointed as small cause Judge in Ahmedabad, Gujarat & retired as Sessions Judge.
