Sports – Whither Cricket ?
Now after theIndian Premier League IPL controversy, its "spot fixing" in cricket. Yes, the crisis of Crickets "spot fixing" has deepened with Yasir Hameed, the Pakistan Batsman claiming that "almost every match" has been fixed.
This has been is reported in The News of the World, a British tabloid that Hameed had turned down a 100,000 pound offer to help fix a Test Match. The newspaper also reported an unnamed player from Pakistan as being investigated for acceptance of bribes. Hameed said " That only those caught are branded as crooks. Several players have been charged and suspended by the Anti Corruption Bureau of ICC. In the wake of match fixing allegations, the recent Pakistan England Test have come under close scrutiny.
Set up three years ago, present IPL team comprises of 8 teams of Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Rajasthan Punjab, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai . According to BCCI, the next three editions of Indian Premier League (IPL) " starting 2011and going into 2013 will have 74 matches each" with the new Teams of Kochi and Sahara Pune Warriors in IPL 4.
The matches will be played in such a way as to ensure that all franchisees have the same number of matches at home as in the previous occasions. The schedule of the matches is expected to be announced soon.
