As all are aware, Indian software companies will have to shell out almost ten times by hike in visa fee, if it is implemented. Under the border security bill signed into law by President Obama nearly US$ 550 million would be raised by hike in visa fees for H1B and L1 visas for the next five years, mostly affecting the IT companies.

As all are aware, Indian software companies will have to shell out almost ten times by hike in visa fee, if it is implemented. Under the border security bill signed into law by President Obama nearly US$ 550 million would be raised by hike in visa fees for H1B and L1 visas for the next five years, mostly affecting the IT companies.

Corporate circles both in India and US have termed this as discriminatory and would undermine the Indo-US relationship. Using innovation as a tool to enhance productivity, N R Narayana Murthy, Founder Chairman, of Infosys expressed confidence that IT companies in India will counter the pressure of visa fee hike by the US government, Number of Indian companies obtain visa for their US project. An additional US $ 200 million strain is expected on Indian firms.
