Raigad sometimes called as Raigarh also . Raigad is placed in Konkan region on Maharashtra. As it shows this names is because of Fort Raigad in this region .
Raigad fort is developed the great king Shivaji Raje in 1674. Raigad was capital Shivaji Raje . at that time Shivaji Raje's empire wise spread all over big part of present modern India

Raigad fort situated in famous mountain range called Sahyadri mountain range. There are 1400-1450 steps on fort. Presently a rope way is present to climb the fort. Fees of rope way are nominal, a common person can afford it.

Now we share some features of fort Raigad
1 ) there were six queen quarters present at that time , which was made up of wood . a great designing was done on that . Now only some of remain you can find there.
2) It is situated 2700 ft high from see level
3) "Ganga sagar" lake is present just ahead of queen quarters.
4) "Nagarkhana darwaja" and "Mena darwaja" are two important doors present on fort . those still standing tall.
