History of "Orange City"
Nagpur is also called as "City of Orange" or "Orange City". Nagpur is also known as Orange capital of India and second capital of Maharashtra.
The Great Gond King of Deogad, "Bakht Buland Shah" was start the construction of city in year of 1702.
If we talk about its name "Nagpur" how is it so?, This is because of the "river Nag" that flows through it.
Nagpur is the place which is famous because it is the center of India, and named as "Zero mile".
This city has Population of Approx. 1,622,225 which are live in area of 217.17 sq. kms and the main Languages are Marathi, Hindi, and English.
Place to Attraction in Nagpur
Ambazari Lake :- Ambazari Lake is Spread over 15.4 sq. kms. This pace has very beautiful and ideal place to visit. You can enjoy Boating facilities and outdoor activity like playing games and for amusement park for kids, etc. Now recently this lake got musical fountain which add romantic flavor in your visit.
Maharaj Baug :-
Maharaj Baug is the only one Zoo in Nagpur. When Bhonsle rulers in Nagpur they made a beautiful garden, which is named as The Maharaj Baug. But after that this is converted into a botanical garden housing a zoo, this zoo containing some beautiful animals and rare species of birds and animals.
Seminary Hill :-
This is one of very beautiful place to visit for peace and greenery in Nagpur. This place is Named after the Seminary of St. Charles. This hill is about of 6km of space which makes this place very beautiful.
Sitabuldi Fort :-
Nagpur has its landmark called "Sitabuldi Fort" most people says your visit is not complete without a visit to the Sitabuldi Fort. This fort was build in the year of 1857 by British officer. And after that this is very famous place in Nagpur.
Sri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir :-
Tis is one very old and beautiful religious place in Nagpur which is made for lord Ram in the year of 1923.
Deekshabhoomi, the only one largest hollow stupa in India and very religious place of dalit buddhist movement which is located in Laxmi Nagar, Nagpur. This place has very importance on the day of Vijayadashmi i.e. Dasehara all the followers of Ambedkar in the world are visit deekshabhoomi & on his birth day i.e. on 14th April is also celebrated.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport :-
Nagpur's Air Traffic Control (ATC) is one of the busiest root which has more than 300 international flights every day. October 2005 is golden moment for Nagpur because this Airport was declared an international airport and was tagged as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. Nagpur is country's only international cargo hub.
