Maharashtra Day on May 1st


Maharashtra Day on May 1st is celebrated in Maharashtra. In 1960 the state divided in two states i.e. Maharashtra & Gujarat on the basis of Language.

Mumbai is the the capital of Maharashtra. 1st May is the Labour Day in Maharashtra and is a yearly public holiday in India.

The State of Government organizes the function in Mumbai. Maharashtra Day is held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai.

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena had organised a competition on 1st May for Housewives for making a Puran Poli.
