Akshaya Tritiya - Akhaji Teej- Holy Day of the Hindu Calender month
Akshaya Tritiya or Akha Teej is a holy day in the Hindus and the Hindu Calender which comes every year on the third teethi of the Bright Half (Shukla Paksha) of the month of Vaishakha of the Hindu Calender month.
Lord Vishnu, the preserver God of the Hindus Trinity, rules this day every year. This day also marks the Birth-day of the Hindu sage Parshurama who is the Sixth Incarnation or Avatar of Vaishakha of Lord Vishnu. Akshaya Tritiya or the Akha Teej also marks the descend of the Holy River Ganga (Also known as Ganges) to the Earth from the Heavens and also the beginning of the Treta Yuga.

Akshaya is a Sanskrit Language word which means the never diminishing and is thought to bring Good Luck and Success.
