2.0 Eligibility Criteria

2.1 Basic Qualification

In order to secure admission to first year of two-year full time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria :

Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Full Time Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities
OR

Appeared** for the final year examination of any Full Time Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only).

NOTE : Candidate is advised to ensure before applying for the CET and the admission to the MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA programme in a particular University that he/she is eligible for admission to the programme as per the relevant Eligibility Rules of that University.

2.2 Eligibility Criteria for admission to Maharashtra State candidates
(Refer rule no. 3.1 for the definition of Type of candidature for Maharashtra State Candidates)
1.Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
2.Scored 30 or more marks in the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010 and appeared for the GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2010-2011.
2.3 Eligibility@ Criteria for admission under All India Seats

2.3.1 For Maharashtra State Candidates
1.Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
2.Appeared for CAT 2009 (conducted by IIMs) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS in the academic year 2010-11. Such candidates# are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Competent Authority of Maharashtra State for academic year 2010-11.
2.3.2 Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates
(Refer rule no. 3.2 for the definition of Outside Maharashtra State Candidates)
1.Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
2.Appeared for CAT 2009 (conducted by IIMs) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS in the academic year 2010-11. Such candidates# are required to appear for GD &PI conducted by the Competent Authority of Maharashtra State for academic year 2010-11.

OR

Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS -CET 2010), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2010-2011.
Note :
•@ To become eligible for admission the candidate should score 30 or more marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010 OR equivalent score of 30 marks or more in the CAT 2009.
•# MS & OMS Candidates who have appeared for CAT 2009 and seeking admission to MBA/MMS course against All India Seats coming under CAP must fill in & confirm the application form for the CET i.e. MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2010 as per the procedure outlined in Annexure-I. Only such candidates will be permitted to appear for the GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra and will be eligible to participate in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
2.4 Eligibility Criteria for admission to J & K migrant candidates
(Refer rule no. 1.3.2 for the definition of J & K Migrant Candidates)
1.Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
2.Scored 30 or more marks in the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010 and appeared for the GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2010-2011.
Note : J & K Migrant Candidates who have appeared for CAT 2009 and seeking admission to MBA/MMS course against 15% All India Seats must fill in & confirm the application form for the CET i.e. MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2010 as per the procedure outlined in Annexure-I.

2.5 Eligibility@ Criteria for admissions against seats for NRI/Foreign National/Foreign Student/ PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries
1.Basic educational qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
2.Appeared for GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA)/CAT (conducted by IIMs)/JMET (conducted by IITs)/MAT(conducted by AIMA conducted in February 2010) /ATMA(conducted by AIMS)/XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2010-11. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.

OR

Appeared for CET conducted by the agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai-51 for the academic year 2010-11. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.

OR

Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2010-2011.

2.In case of Minority seats, the candidate should belong to the minority community/group for which the institute has secured minority status.
3.Appeared for GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA only for NRI candidates) / CAT (conducted by IIMs) / JMET (conducted by IITs) / MAT (conducted by AIMA in February 2010) / ATMA (conducted by AIMS) / XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2010-11. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.

OR

Appeared for CET conducted by the agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai-51 for the academic year 2010-11. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.

OR

GENERAL NOTES :
1.Candidates securing less than ‘30’ marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010 and its equivalent score in GMAT/CAT/JMET/MAT (conducted in February 2010) /ATMA/ XAT/ Association CET/Any other equivalent CET will not be eligible to get admission to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course in the State of Maharashtra.
2.Eligible NRI candidates may be offered admission against the Institute Level Seats in Unaided Institutes. For detailed guidelines of Admission Process please refer Annexure III.
3.Details regarding MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2010, the GD &PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra are given in Annexure -IV. Annexure–IV also gives distribution of marks (CET-200 marks + (GD, PI, PAR, WE)- 40 marks i.e. Total 240 marks).
4.Candidates who remain absent for either the GD or the PI shall be treated as not eligible candidate for the admission and result of such candidates will not be declared and score card will not be issued i.e. it is mandatory for eligible candidate to attend both the GD and PI without fail.
5.Any other combinations of Common Entrance Tests and GD,PI which is not specified in rules 2.2. to 2.6 shall be considered as INVALID for the purpose of admissions.
6.Candidates who are appearing for MAT (conducted by AIMA) should note that the score of the MAT exam conducted in February 2010 alone shall be considered valid and will be accepted for the purpose of preparing merit list and admissions to MBA/MMS/PGDBM course.
7.*Aggregate marks means the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in subjects based on which the class declaration is made in the particular University from which the candidate is passing the qualifying examination.
8.**Candidates appeared for final year examination fulfilling the remaining eligibility criteria will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2010. In case, the candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before 25th September 2010, then admission offered to such candidate automatically cancelled and the fees (tuition, development and other fees) paid by the candidate of the academic year 2010-11 will be forfeited.
9.Candidates aspiring to seek admission to the MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA courses should follow the instructions given in Annexure-I for filling up On-line Application form(s), appearing for CET-2010, appearing for GD & PI, Registration for CAP and filling up the option form etc.

Subject: Online Submission of application & option forms for the admission to the First
Year Post Graduate Courses in MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM for the academic
year 2010-2011.
Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State has decided to have web based
online software for receipt of the application form & option form (multiple rounds) for the
admission to the First Year Post Graduate Courses in MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM for the
academic year 2010-2011.
Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State has identified some institutions from
the state for the work of the receipt of the application form and option form herein after
referred as “Application Form Receipt Center (ARC)”-cum-Facilitation Center. The list of
the ARC-cum- Facilitation Center is attached herewith. The Director/Principal of the
identified institute should appoint one coordinator & two supporting staff for this activity
and communicate their names, contact numbers & e-mail address at itdc@dte.org.in
immediately.
The activities and facilitation charges are as follows.
Activity-I: Submission of online application form and Generation of Hall Ticket for CET
􀂙 Scanning of candidates photograph with signature as per the instructions given in
Application Kit.
􀂙 Submission of Online application form
􀂙 Printing of Hall Ticket (One Copy)
􀂙 For this activity the facilitation charges of Rs. 50/- should be collected from the
candidate.
􀂙 It is not mandatory to the candidate to use facilitation of ARC for this activity.
Activity-II : Registration for GD &PI and Generation of Call Letter
􀂙 Selection of date for GD &PI
􀂙 Printing of Call Letter (One Copy)
􀂙 For this activity the facilitation charges of Rs. 20/- should be collected from the
candidate.
􀂙 It is not mandatory to the candidate to use facilitation of ARC for this activity.
Activity-III: Verification of Documents, Confirmation of Application form for CAP

The activity-I, II, IV are optional to the candidates. The activity-III is mandatory to the
candidates.
Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai will pay Rs. 50/- (Rs. Fifty
Only) per confirmation of receipt of application form after successful completion of the
admission process of the respective courses. The distribution of the amounts collected

The Minimum infrastructure required at ARC is as follows,
1. 5 Nos. Pentium IV or higher PC for Confirmation and 10 Nos Pentium IV or higher
PC for facilitation.
2. Windows 98/2000/XP/2003/Vista Operating System with up to date security &
service patches

3. Microsoft Office at least 2000/XP/2003/2007 on single machine, Adobe Acrobat
Reader 6.0 or above.
4. All the 15 machines should be connected through LAN with Internet facility
5. Internet Explorer 6.0 or above with all upgrades and Java Script enabled.
6. 2 nos. Scanner A4 size with minimum 300dpi resolution
7. DeskJet / LaserJet Printers as per the No. of confirmation terminals or networked.
8. Minimum 128 kbps ISDN/ADSL/Wimax /Leased line with Proxy Server for
Internet sharing on the entire PCs. ( Instead of PSTN connection minimum 128 kbps
ISDN Connection should be made available wherever possible)
9. Adequate Electrical Power Backup facilities
10. Counseling Hall with required facilities for Minimum 20 candidates.
(Note: Number of computing facilities may vary based on the location of the ARC)
All the Principals/Directors of the ARCs are hereby informed to make the above
infrastructure ready and in working condition before the start of the receipt of the
applications for MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM admission activity before 18/01/2010 and
they are required to setup separate facilitation center for aforesaid activities as per
requirement for smooth conduct of the receipt of the application form.
Desk3 (IT Cell) will work as a chief ARC for coordinating ARC activity.

Applications are invited from the eligible Maharashtra State candidates for admission to Direct Second year
of four-year degree courses in Engineering / Technology and Pharmacy in Government, Government aided,
Unaided Institutions, University managed institutes and University Departments (Except in four Govt.
Autonomous institutions) in the State of Maharashtra for the academic year 2006-2007.
Eligibility Criteria
Degree Courses in Engineering / Technology
The candidate should have passed in first class/
first class with condonation, post-SSC or post HSC
Diploma course in Engineering / Technology of
the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education
(MSBTE) OR of any other recognized Diploma#
equivalent to the Diploma awarded by the
Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education
(MSBTE) with English as the medium of instruction
at Diploma level OR of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Technological University, Lonere (BATU) OR of
Smt. Nathibai Damodar Thakarasi Women’s
University (SNDT), Mumbai OR of any other
AICTE approved institution which has been
granted Academic Autonomy by the Government of
Maharashtra or University in the State of
Maharashtra.
Degree Course in Pharmacy
The candidate should have passed HSC examination
with Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Mathematics
(or both) from Board of Higher Secondary
Examination, Maharashtra State.
AND
The candidate should have passed in first class /
first class with condonation, post HSC Diploma
course in Pharmacy (as per ER-91 regulations of
PCI) from an institution approved by AICTE and
of the Maharashtra State Board of Technical
Education (MSBTE) OR any other recognized
Diploma# equivalent to the Diploma awarded by
the Maharashtra State Board of Technical
Education (MSBTE) with English as the medium
of instruction at Diploma level OR any other
AICTE approved institution which has been
granted Academic Autonomy by the

# Note : Such candidates shall produce Equivalence certificate from Maharashtra State Board of Technical
Education (MSBTE) at the time of confirmation of Application Form at ARC.
Outside Maharashtra State candidates who are not eligible for admission as per rule no. 2.3 and 2.4 of the
Engineering/Technology Information brochure and rule no. 2.2 and 2.3 of the Pharmacy Information
brochure shall directly contact to the Principals of un-aided institutions where vacancies are available after
completion of admissions through Centralized Allotment Process and after the list of Maharashtra State
candidates gets exhausted.
Availability of Information brochure and submission of Application-cum-Option Forms:
• Information brochure along with specimen Application-cum-Option Form will be available at all
Application form Receipt Centers (ARCs) between 11.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
• All the information printed in the brochure is available on the website.

Form” through the web site at any of the ARCs as mentioned below OR the candidates can also fill it
through any computer connected to Internet, either from home or cyber café and take the printout of the Online
submitted Application-cum-Option form for confirmation at ARCs. In any case, candidate has to do the
confirmation of submission of online Application-cum-Option form at ARC only by producing the duly

signed copy of the online Application cum Option Form along with the attested Xerox copies (or Xerox
copies with originals) of the required supporting documents enlisted in the online form.
• Application-cum-Option Forms confirmed at ARCs will only be considered valid for further
processing. No other mode of submission shall be accepted.
• The candidate should submit only one form. If it is found that the candidate has submitted multiple
forms, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

MAH-MCA-CET- 2010 Eligibility
Basic Qualification: In order to secure admission to first year of three-year full time MCA course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria;

Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination. The Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai continues the system of online receipt of application form for MCA for the year 2010-11.

Information brochure alongwith the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the select post offices mentioned below only during working hours of the respective post offices from 08/02/2010 to 19/02/2010 (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The furtheradmission process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.

Submission of the application form in response to this notification will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted theapplication form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.
Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid at the identified post offices, in cash only. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.
A) For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates and NRI/Foreign National/Foreign Students/ PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates: Rs.750/-
B) For Candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJDT NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] belonging to Maharashtra State only.: Rs.550/-
J & K Migrant candidates who wish to apply against J & K Migrant quota and also against OMS quota are required to pay total fee of Rs. 1500/- (Two separate receipts of Rs.750/- each). Such candidates will be required to register as both J&K and OMS candidate and one Hall ticket will be generated after confirmation of onlineapplication form.


This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
Submission and Confirmation of Online Application Form :


Aspiring candidates will be able to submit and confirm the Online Application form through the web site www.dte.org.in/mca through any computer connected to Internet.

For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo with signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.

In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.
