ACADEMIC TERM & VACATION SCHEDULE FOR THE YEAR 2010 – 2011
During the academic year 2010 – 2011, teachers of all Health Science Colleges/Institutes affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik shall have following academic terms
and vacations.

Notes :-
1) Teaching staff can also avail holidays as per provisions made in statute 6/2000(Amended).
2) Total working days available are 240 days.
3) Academic Year 2009-2010 commences from 01st Aug 2009.
4) For all First Year students admitted in academic year 2009-2010, the academic year will
commence w.e.f. 01st Aug 2009 and their examinations will be notified based on cut off dates
announced by respective council, Competent (Admitting) Authority i.e. DMER and University.
5) Students who are exam going will finish classes on 6th May. After this date, exam going students
will get preparatory leave up to start of theory Examination date. Remaining students will
continue training.
6) MUHS will hold two examinations in year 2009-2010 in 3rd week of November and last week of
May as per examination schedule which will be published in due course after considering the
first year courses admission cut off date announced by Competent (Admitting) authority i.e.
DMER.
7) Above academic term and vacation shall be applicable uniformly to the Health Science
Colleges/Institutions affiliated to this University. However Dean/Principal of the college is
permitted to alter the dates of the vacations in order to suit any extra ordinary local condition
after taking due approval from the University. Last date of submission of such approvals to the
University is 31st Oct 2009. Nevertheless in case of any variation it will be ensured that a
minimum of 240 working days are held during the Academic Year.
8) Vacation for Teaching Staff:- Each staff will avail half the vacation only at the discretion of
Dean/Principal.
9) This policy will generally be adopted for next two academic years subject to respective Central
Council norms or other factors.
10) Dean/Principal of the College/Institute shall inform the total academic days in the year 2009-
2010 at the end of the academic year.

Sub :- Internship Transfer from one affiliated College to other affiliated College.
This is notified to all concerned that, the University has framed the Rules governing Internship Training Programme for final year passout candidates of MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BUMS / BHMS / BOTh /BPTh / B.Sc. (HLS) / BASLP Courses. The said rules are available on the University Website. The students desirous of transfer to another College for doing Internship Training Programme shall have to apply to the University in the prescribed form along with necessary fee, before cut off date for respective faculties.
The applications for internship transfer may be submitted on or before cut off date mentioned below along with necessary documents and D.D. of fees mentioned in academic notification no. 03/2007, available on the University website, drawn in favour of 'Registrar, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik' from any Nationalised Bank, payable at Nashik.
Applications received after cut off date shall stand rejected.
