Seva Sadan Collage for B.Ed and D.Ed in Ulhasnagar


The Seva Sadan’s College of Education, Ulhasnagar, Thane, Maharashtra, is an important college of Teacher Education which offers the B.Ed. Programme of the University of Mumbai, as an affiliated college of the University. Seva Sadan’s College of Education is the first Non-Government college to be started in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. It currently runs two parallel B.Ed. streams – one in Marathi and the other in English, each with a student strength of 100. It is reputed centre of teacher education. The college is recognized as a Ph.D. research centre of the University of Mumbai & Y.C.M. Open University, Nasik. The college runs a two year D.Ed. course in addition to the B.Ed. It also has a study centre of the IGNOU B.Ed., M.A. (Education), and partner institute for IGNOU Convergence Mode- B.Ed., PGDHE.

To realise this vision the college has following mission :-
“To impart quality teacher education and encourage life long learning among teachers.”
In order to fulfill the mission of the college, the following goals are identified :-
1.To provide quality teacher education for all the aspirants, irrespective of caste, creed and language.

3.To extend the pedagogical knowledge to the society.
4.To promote research in the field of teacher education.
5.To develop positive attitude towards the teaching profession.
6.To develop personal, professional and social competencies required in teachers.
7. To develop understanding about the role of school and teacher as agents of social change, national integration and scientific temper.
8. To inculcate the values of life among the teachers.
9. To create awareness of current issues in education.
